MEET OUR NEW FACULTY!
Evolution is excited to welcome three new faculty members to our
team this year!
Heather
Taschuk - Ballet
Heather has recently graduated from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School
Professional Division’s Teacher Training Program and currently holds
her Associate through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance,
Cecchetti Faculty, where she has spent her past 3 years studying.
Heather originates from Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island, British
Columbia, where she studied at the Parksville Ballet School for 15
years under Linda Klassen L.I.S.T.D (C.B). Started dancing at the
age of 3, Heather has taken classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz,
modern, and some musical theatre. During her time at PBS Heather
competed in dance festivals on the Island and was also in
productions put on by the Parksville Ballet School (including
Totally Tap, Annie, Peter Pan and Willy Wonka). Throughout her years
at PBS, Heather has completed up to her Advanced 1 Cecchetti Ballet
exams and Advanced 2 ISTD Tap exams, and is working towards
completing her Advanced 2 Cecchetti Ballet exam.
Jaclyn
Kurceba - Musical Theatre
Jaclyn has grown up with a love of musical theatre from a
very young age. From Jesus Christ Super Star to West Side Story she
has performed in various musical productions through school and
community theatres. She has completed her grade 8 in classical voice
as well as her grade 6 in speech and drama. Jaclyn is currently
finishing her last year of her theatre degree at the University of
Winnipeg and is very excited to be a part of the Evolution team!
Michaela
Finch - Tap
Mikki began taking dance classes at the age of three and
since then dance has been a big part of her life. She has had the
opportunity to participate in workshops, performances and
competitions in places such as Minneapolis, Nova Scotia, Ontario,
Bismarck, and Hamburg. She has trained in all forms of dance but has
developed a true passion for tap. Mikki was a member of the Canadian
tap team for two years. As a member of the team she competed in
Germany at the World Tap Championships; in 2007 on the first ever
Winnipeg based junior team placing fourth and in 2008 on Winnipeg’s
first senior team bringing home the Bronze medal. Mikki has also won
many different awards including “intermediate high score” at the
Canadian National Dance Championships and many special awards at
competitions all over North America. Mikki has been assisting for
the past three years at Evolution in both competitive and
recreational classes and she can’t wait to start teaching and share
her love of dance with her students.
